Christian Courage~

I love this quote above and hope that I can be an  example of a true Christian and especially a courageous one. Sometimes it is difficult to have the courage to not engage in an issue.
Lately, I have noted that there is a lot of debating going on in the workplace, in the political arena and over religious beliefs.
Our Prophet and Apostles have counseled us to stand for truth but at the same time to love all others regardless of their beliefs.
A few months ago I was having a conversation with someone over an issue that was bothering us both. I could sense their anger was building and I realized then that the Christ like way was not a way of anger. I do believe with all my heart that it is always best to listen with kindness, stand for truth but not argue the differences in thoughts and beliefs. We are to love one another regardless of what we each believe. We are to be tolerant and kind to one another. We should never bash other's political or religious beliefs.
In our faith we have 13 Articles of Faith that describe our beliefs. When it comes to religious tolerance this is one that we live by.
The 11th Article of Faith - "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
My very favorite Article of Faith is the 13th - We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
You can find all of the Articles of Faith here

Just recently my sweet husband retired and we are presently on a trip visiting our daughter, Jenni and her awesome family. We are then having some of our children visiting us; kind of coming and going. We are then traveling to visit our youngest daughter, Tiffani and her family. August has become a very busy month. I will do a family pictorial at the end of August of our fun moments. Therefore, if I don't get by to read some of your blogs posts as often, I will be back. Plus, I may not be able to do a blog post as often.
My husband and I have an exciting announcement to make in the next few weeks that I will soon share.
I truly love you all and have always enjoyed reading about your days. I treasure our blogging friendships.

Blessings and hugs for all~

it is best to listen with kindness. it is more important to be kind than it is to be right. often, adversity does not build character, it reveals it!!!

i am so happy your husband retired, i know how much you have been looking forward to that. make the most of each day. the adventures don't have to be monumentous, just do small things in a grand way!!!

LeAnn,
It is not always easy to have that "Christian Courage". One good thing, among many others, is that each new day gives us the opportunity to get it right. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this blog. It gives me the opportunity to read and think about things that I might not have even ventured into for the day.
Have a fun month with your family.
Marsha

Thanks for this beautiful post. Glad you two are finally having some time together.

Feeling so sad that you'll be without a temple to work in for a while. That is a hard thing. Feeling sad for you already. Love and hugs.

Wonderful post! I recently went through some challenges with my son who was visiting and realized that the anger he felt was not from Christ and the best thing I could do was let him get it out and try to listen and understand what he was saying and feeling. It wasn't easy by any means! But, even though we didn't see eye to eye and probably never will, I will always love him and am trying hard to be more tolerant and understanding. I appreciate you reminders and thoughts you shared in this post.
So happy you and your husband are enjoying yourself and visiting with family. Have a wonderful and safe time. Nola

Good counsel, and I can't wait to hear your announcement! (I have a guess, but will not say anything just in case I'm right.)

I posted an anniversary pic of my mom and Dick today. It's a cute one!

Enjoy the rest of your "family" month.

=)
