The Good News is that I had the opportunity to write a post this week for Mormon Women on Early Morning Seminary. This year is the 100th Anniversary of the Seminary program in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I had the privlidge of teaching Early Morning Seminary for 4 years when we resided in Washington. I am not a morning person by any means; but I did get up everyday from Monday through Friday at 5 am to prepare for a morning of teaching youth in our area 5 days a week for 1 hour. These were very special experiences in my life and I loved each and every one of my students with all of my heart. I had many sacred and sweet moments. Take a minute to read my post entitled: "A Fond Memory".

Heading over!
=)
Teaching Seminary was one of my favourite callings Leanne! I always felt I learned far more than the kids did! But it's like that with everything isn't it?? xxoo
I admire you for getting up so early. I was a teenager who went to those early morning classes oh so long ago. But I still remember the sweet spirit that was there and how close we felt to the Savior. Blessings to you, LeAnn!
We bet you were an excellent Seminary teacher! We're heading over to check you out at Mormon Women.
What a sweet memory. If you have to lose someone it's comforting to know they were living righteously and know who they are. Thanks for sharing such a special experience.
Btw, I found your blog through Mormon Moms Who Blog.

Reading your post about teaching Seminary in Washington and of David brought tears to my eyes. There is a wonderful spirit you bring to your posts. How blessed these young people were to have you as their teachers. Thanks for sharing your fond memory. Nola
What a great memory! Thank you for sharing.
Stopping by from the Good News hop!
I so admire anyone who is or was a seminary teacher. I was asked to teach seminary once but it was when I was still teaching high school and I had to be to school before seminary was over each morning. Actually, I was glad that I had a good excuse because I found it hard enough to get to school by 7:15 a.m. It would have been hard for me to get to church an hour earlier than that. I think seminary teachers are very special people.
Congrats on writing the article. I am going to pop over and read it now. Have a great week. Hugs, Lura
What a labor of love and faith. And what an opportunity. You are an inspiration.
I loved seminary when I was a teenager! In California we got up early to go before school. I completed 4 years! Love scripture study!
